Clinical Informaticist (Drug Knowledge & Terminology): Contract Remote | 6 to 12 months | Starting January | ~30 hours per week We're looking for a clinician to join a clinical informatics team that builds drug information and patient-matching tools used by physicians, nurses and other clinicians at the point of care. About the roleYou'll help maintain a clinical knowledge base covering around 6,000 drug indications. Your clinical judgement will keep the content accurate, consistent and easy to use, and you'll work with terminology standards and knowledge structures to connect drugs, conditions and patients. What you'll do Review and maintain drug indication content and the relationships between drugs, conditions and patient factors Map and normalise medications and clinical concepts using SNOMED CT and RxNorm Help build and refine knowledge graphs and concept hierarchies that power drug lookup and matching Bring information from multiple clinical and drug references into one reliable, consistent view Work with informatics, product and engineering colleagues to turn clinical needs into structured content Document decisions and flag content gaps What we're looking for A medical degree (MD/DO or equivalent) with USMLE passed if relevant to your location A clinical background in family medicine or internal medicine Working knowledge of SNOMED CT and RxNorm An understanding of semantics, ontologies and knowledge representation (graphs, trees, hierarchies) Strong knowledge of drug therapy and indications Ability to work independently on a part-time contract Nice to have Previous clinical informatics, medical content or terminology experience Experience with drug reference tools or clinical decision support Familiarity with ICD-10 and LOINC What this role is not: EHR build or configuration, or software development.
