Attached to the Vaud Judicial Order, the nine justices of the peace in the canton rule in first instance in civil matters. They are also authorities for the protection of adults and children.

The Justice of the Peace of the Riviera-Pays-d'Enhaut district, which employs nearly 30 magistrates and collaborators, is looking for a clerk of the court.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Justices of the Peace during hearings.
  • Analyse files, conduct all useful research, especially legal, to prepare the hearing and drafting activities.
  • Keep the hearing minutes up to date and draft judicial decision projects by writing the facts and ensuring all legal arguments are addressed (based on notes or instructions).
  • Make corrections made by the judge in charge of the file and ensure the proper formatting of the original decision as well as its finalisation.
  • Participate in file management (mail, telephone, etc.) and conduct legal research.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in law or equivalent university qualification
  • Several years of professional experience preferred
  • Sense of public service and responsibility
  • Interest in drafting judicial decisions and taking minutes
  • Excellent spelling, typing skills, rigor, precision and discretion
  • Very good stress resistance

As part of the recruitment process, candidates will be required to present an extract from the debt collection register and a criminal record dated less than 3 months.
