Our client, a family-owned SME based in Lausanne, specialising in the luxury watchmaking sector (furniture, POS displays and related trades), is looking for their future Chief Operating Officer.

Your mission

Your mission is to ensure the smooth operational functioning of the company, optimise its processes, guarantee quality, regulatory compliance, traceability and the performance of all activities.

As a member of the Executive Committee, you play a key role in structuring and managing the organisation, ensuring coherence between operational requirements, logistical imperatives and the company’s quality standards.

Your responsibilities

Within this framework, you will notably be responsible for:

Organisation and structuring

  • Designing, structuring and optimising the internal organisation and operational processes
  • Defining and implementing procedures and reference frameworks ensuring operational efficiency and coherence
  • Managing transformation and continuous improvement projects
  • Managing the evolution of the ERP and business tools in collaboration with users

Logistics

  • Supervising and optimising logistics flows, stock and storage activities

Document management and compliance

  • Ensuring product document compliance
  • Supervising the management of item sheets
  • Supervising regulatory certificates (EURD, PFAS, etc.)
  • Ensuring compliance with documentary requirements

Quality, standards and certifications

  • Managing current and future ISO certifications
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable reference frameworks
  • Organising internal and external audits
  • Contributing to the deployment of the company’s CSR commitments

Financial and analytical management

  • Supervising analytical accounting and ensuring the reliability of cost data
  • Designing and managing operational and financial dashboards
  • Conducting performance analyses and making optimisation recommendations
  • Contributing to budget preparation and monitoring financial indicators

Management and leadership

  • Supervising and leading the administrative team
  • Actively participating in strategic decisions as a member of the Executive Committee
  • Ensuring cross-functionality and coordination of transversal projects involving several company departments

Your profile

  • Higher education in management, operations management, logistics, industrial engineering or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a management or operational responsibility role
  • Strong expertise in logistics and supply chain management
  • Proficiency in material data sheets, bill of materials and production management tools (ERP, etc.)
  • Good understanding of financial issues: analytical accounting, management control, reporting
  • Knowledge of quality standards and experience in certification management
  • Strong leadership and ability to unite multidisciplinary teams
  • Rigour, organisational skills and ability to structure complex processes
  • Analytical mindset, results-oriented and continuous improvement focus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Experience in implementing or managing an ERP
  • Experience in document or regulatory management
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards (14001 is an asset)
  • Sensitivity to CSR issues
  • Excellent oral and written command of French; English is an asset
