Job Description ##

We have an exciting opportunity for a Category Manager Electronics to join an international technology and manufacturing organization based in Basel, Switzerland.

This senior procurement position is focused on strengthening the organization's supply of electronic components through effective category strategies, strategic supplier management and continuous improvement.

You will work across regional and global teams, helping to build resilient supply chains while balancing cost, quality, delivery, sustainability and innovation.

Key responsibilities as Category Manager Electronics include:

  • Develop and implement regional procurement strategies for electronic components in collaboration with global category teams
  • Analyze markets, suppliers and industry trends to identify opportunities, risks and potential supply chain challenges
  • Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, covering selection, qualification, negotiations, contracts and ongoing performance
  • Drive supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery, sustainability and security of supply
  • Lead supplier development and optimization initiatives, including cost reduction, lean, inventory and digitalization projects
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders across procurement, supply chain and the wider business to align requirements and gain support for sourcing strategies

The ideal candidate profile:

  • 5+ years of strategic procurement experience, ideally within electronics, engineering or another technical manufacturing environment
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or a related discipline
  • Strong understanding of strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contracts and wider supply chain processes
  • Experience working with electronic components such as semiconductors, microchips, microchips etc., and/or technically complex supplier portfolios would be highly advantageous
  • Strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to turn market insight and procurement strategy into tangible results.
  • Fluent English is essential; German would be advantageous
