Your role
You assume end-to-end responsibility for control tasks assigned to you. While working independently, you are in close contact with your team and other BRM experts to deliver high-quality control results.
Your main tasks as a BRM Risk Manager will be:
- Assess operational risks related to AML & KYC, Investor Protection (Advisory Process), or Cross-border during monthly controls.
- Ensure timely remediation by front staff and answer control-related questions.
- Closely collaborate with the team to ensure quality, for example, by conducting four-eyes checks and sharing knowledge.
- Assist front staff with technical and topic-specific queries.
This role will be on a 12-month limited contract

Your team
The temporary control team is a group of experts with different professional backgrounds and part of BRM Products 2 within UBS Switzerland's Business Risk Management (BRM). The experts are responsible for assessing control tasks of the Origination Control Framework and make sure that remediation of issues found is completed where required.
Our offices are located in Bern, Lausanne, Lugano, St. Gallen, and Zurich.
Your expertise
- understanding and/or experience in risk management in general, and at least one of the topics mentioned above
- detail-oriented with a strategic perspective
- effective communicator, even in challenging discussions about control results
- flexibility to adjust to new topics
- motivated to build positive relationships while working independently
- languages: Proficiency in spoken and written English or German is required. Other languages are a plus, in particular French or Italian.
An introduction phase is planned to take place in Zurich. Working from one of our other offices (Bern, Lausanne, Lugano, St. Gallen) can be discussed individually. As a BRM member, you will have the chance to participate in our extensive networking possibilities and engage directly with how first-line-of-defense controls are being performed within BRM.
