Local Impact Sàrl has developed Mercoria, a Swiss digital platform dedicated to local commerce. It brings together a community of local shops and consumers within a single mobile application. Our solutions enable retailers to gain visibility, communicate with their customers, offer attractive benefits, and grow their turnover, while preserving what makes them strong: proximity and human relationships.

Today, Mercoria connects several hundred local shops and supports many retailers, trade associations, and public authorities in French-speaking Switzerland. By combining loyalty, communication, and sales within a single ecosystem, we help local players gain visibility, develop their business, and stay close to their customers in an increasingly digital world.

Based in Fribourg, our team shares a strong ambition: to become the Swiss reference for digital solutions dedicated to local commerce. To achieve this, we rely on innovation, simplicity, and a deep conviction: technology must strengthen human relationships, not replace them.

To support our growth, we are looking for a motivated and enterprising Business Development Manager. Your mission will be to develop our presence in French-speaking Switzerland: identify new opportunities, establish first contact with retailers and decision-makers, present our solutions, and turn these exchanges into lasting collaborations. As a true ambassador of Mercoria, you will directly contribute to our development while participating in an entrepreneurial adventure that has a tangible impact on the local economy.

Your missions

Develop your market

You will be responsible for the commercial development of Mercoria with shops, restaurants, associations, and public authorities in French-speaking Switzerland. This is an active development role: you will not only manage incoming requests but create your own opportunities and grow your market.

Specifically, you will:

  • Identify new business opportunities and build your portfolio of prospects.
  • Actively meet retailers and decision-makers.
  • Prospect by phone, email, LinkedIn, events, and field visits.
  • Establish first contact, generate interest, and develop these opportunities up to signing.
  • Develop a strong presence of Mercoria in the targeted regions.

Advise and convince

You will support prospects from the first exchange to their decision.

Your responsibilities:

  • Understand the needs, challenges, and objectives of each prospect.
  • Present Mercoria solutions during online meetings or directly at clients’ premises.
  • Demonstrate concretely how our tools can develop their visibility, customer base, and turnover.
  • Prepare commercial offers and ensure follow-up until closing.
  • Build trusting relationships with our future partners.

Contribute to building our growth

We are a small team: your impact will go beyond sales.

You will also contribute to:

  • Identify new segments and market opportunities.
  • Continuously improve our prospecting methods and commercial approach.
  • Share customer feedback with the team to continuously improve our solutions.
  • Maintain clear and structured tracking of opportunities in our CRM (Pipedrive).
  • Represent Mercoria at professional events, trade shows, and local meetings.

Qualifications and skills

  • Excellent command of written and spoken French.
  • Good knowledge of German: a real advantage.
  • Successful experience in B2B sales, business development, or field sales activity.
  • Experience in active prospecting and acquiring new clients.
  • Experience managing a complete sales cycle, from first contact to closing.
  • Very good interpersonal skills and ability to quickly create a climate of trust.
  • Comfortable with digital tools and interested in new technologies.
  • Experience with a CRM (ideally Pipedrive).
  • Driving licence and availability for regular travel in French-speaking Switzerland.

Location

Position based in French-speaking Switzerland, in Fribourg.
