The position is attached to the Diagnostic Department. Comprising nine medical services, its mission is to provide diagnoses, therapeutic products, therapeutic procedures, and specialised clinical consultations of high medical quality, within the shortest possible time and at an acceptable cost, to guide patient care and contribute to therapeutic decisions and actions.

The primary mission of the Laboratory Medicine service is to handle liquid samples of all kinds such as blood, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, as well as wound swabs, and to subject them to numerous and varied analyses providing quality results as quickly as possible. The results guide medical decisions and therapeutic choices. They are obtained using the most recent robotic, semi-robotic, or manual technologies and the most efficient methods to date. The service also has research and teaching missions.

The Central Serotheque of the Laboratory Medicine Service prepares and biobanks biological samples for the needs of medical services in patient care and clinical research studies. The Central Serotheque also supports clinical study investigators in setting up protocols for the collection, preparation, and storage of biological samples, in compliance with good clinical practice rules.



Biomedical Analysis Technician - 65%


The Central Serotheque of the Laboratory Medicine Service is seeking a biomedical analysis technician with solid experience in biobanking and clinical studies, capable of integrating quickly into a team, demonstrating rigour and collegiality.

You will organise, ensure, and control the proper execution of the various stages of managing biological samples received at the Central Serotheque.

You must participate in the implementation and monitoring of laboratory quality procedures and documentation.

Within the framework of clinical studies, you participate in defining and implementing, in collaboration with the responsible investigators, procedures related to the management of biological samples.

You contribute to the development of biobank activities, as well as the development and implementation of new tools for the management and traceability of biological samples.

You will collaborate with investigators and biobanks both internal and external to the Geneva University Hospitals.


Qualifications

You hold a diploma as a biomedical analysis technician (TAB) or an equivalent qualification.

You have the ability to meticulously follow procedures and adapt quickly to changes.

You are capable of working independently.

You have solid theoretical and practical knowledge in the pre-analytical management of biological samples.

You have theoretical knowledge and practical experience in managing biobanks in the biomedical or clinical research field.

You are proficient with tools such as Excel and other related software.

Proficiency in English would be an advantage.

You have professional experience in a medical analysis laboratory. You know how to use automated systems and master laboratory IT tools.

You can demonstrate at least one year of practical experience in a biobank in a hospital or university setting.

You accept irregular working hours and are required to participate in the shift rotation for opening and closing the laboratory or laboratories as well as on-call duty (public holidays).
