Mission EPFL faces major challenges in managing the Digital Systems Department (DSI), which is responsible for implementing the digital strategy of EPFL. These missions include, in a combination of direct responsibilities and responsibilities for the implementation of the EPFL roadmap, business process management, security, management of central infrastructures, management of core business, as well as collaboration with the Faculty services. DSI is looking for a BIM specialist to strengthen its team. You will contribute to the implementation of Business Intelligence for EPFL. Under the supervision of the BI unit leader, you will participate in the development of solutions, project monitoring, and support for users and stakeholders. The main missions focus on the administration and maintenance of Tableau Server, the production of reports and dashboards with Tableau, and contribution to the BI/DWH project, within our SAP BW/4 HANA environment, including the establishment of data extraction and transformation processes (ETL). You analyze, configure, and develop software components based on specifications and functional documents, applying current standards and best practices. Thus, you contribute to the digital transformation of EPFL in an innovative and quality-oriented environment. You play a key role in managing and utilizing institutional data. As an architect of data flows, you ensure the quality, availability, and consistency of our ecosystem to support the needs of EPFL.Main Tasks and Responsibilities Tableau Server - Reliability and Performance - Ensure the administration and maintenance of Tableau Server, including managing environments, technical dependencies, connectors, and drivers. - Guarantee the availability of services, stability of processes, and quality of access to content. - Ensure the resolution of incidents and performance issues, from analysis to follow-up on corrective actions. - Manage capacity and optimize performance. Reliable and Standard BI Dashboards - Design, develop, and evolve Tableau dashboards that meet business needs, applying best practices in ergonomics, performance, and governance. - Publish and structure content on Tableau Server by organizing projects, data sources, and access rights. - Harmonize standards by creating clear conventions, standard, and reusable models to ensure consistency and efficiency. - Contribute to the BI approach by presenting new services, features, or standards deployed on our tools and BI services. Contribution to BI & DWH Projects - Contribute to all stages of BI/DWH projects, from scope to delivery, ensuring the quality of deliverables and adherence to internal standards. - Organize and supervise tests, including regression scenarios, while ensuring key outcomes. - Maintain a clear, up-to-date, and accessible functional and technical documentation to facilitate knowledge continuity and transfer. - Apply project methodologies and best practices while promoting continuous improvement. - Collaborate with business and IT teams to align BI solutions with needs and technological watch by proposing enhancements and anticipating evolutions of the BI/DWH ecosystem. Efficiency and tool management - Aim to establish and maintain tools for robust and effective quality improvement, ideally implementing and maintaining a version and project management tool based on GitHub, including reviews and workflows tailored to needs. - Produce and maintain runbooks, procedures, standards, and technological control measures related to the evolution of the X ecosystem and complementary environments, consistent with the target architecture, governance, security standards, and quality service requirements. - Participate in new capabilities, particularly in maintainability and monitoring, ensuring the robustness of solutions and adoption by users of AI models in BI uses when the context permits. - Tasks include ensuring the replacement of a team colleague. Profile Requirements - Degree in IT (HES, University, or EPF) or equivalent in management. - Minimum of 8 years of BI experience with proven expertise in Tableau, including diagnostic and resolution of incidents, alongside necessary skills for development, and mastery of GitHub including version management practices and reviews. - Knowledge of Agile methods and the Scrum framework. - In-depth knowledge of the ITIL framework for service management (ITSM). - Languages: French (C1) and excellent command of the English language (minimum C1/B2), German is a plus. - Appreciated skills: - JavaScript development, particularly in a Tableau context, including web and BI environments. - Experience in complementary BI environments and/or new environments in an ecosystem evolution logic, including governance, content management, and BI projects integrating AI models while ensuring their sustainability and governance. - Knowledge of SAP BI and the SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office tool.
