Automation Engineer – Job No 7114
Our client, a global market leader in the production and process support of active pharmaceutical ingredients, both in the chemical and biotechnology sectors, is looking for a automation engineer within their team. This is a 12 months, fully onsite contract role to be based in the Valais area, Switzerland.
Main Responsibilities:
· Design and implement Emerson DeltaV automation solutions for CAPEX projects.
· Configure control strategies, system interfaces, graphics, alarms, and process automation applications within the DeltaV environment.
· Prepare and maintain GxP-compliant engineering and validation documentation according to company standards.
· Support integration of DeltaV systems with process equipment, PLCs, utility systems, MES, and other plant systems.
· Execute and document testing, commissioning, qualification, and startup activities (FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ).
· Troubleshoot and resolve automation, communication, and control system issues throughout the project lifecycle.
· Ensure compliance with GMP, data integrity, change management, and validation requirements.
· Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Validation, Quality, and Project teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required
· Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
· Hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV system engineering and configuration.
· Experience developing and maintaining GxP documentation in regulated industries.
· Knowledge of commissioning, qualification, and validation processes.
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Experience working within CAPEX project environments.
· German required; English proficiency preferred.
