This department combines a societal mission aimed at enabling access to care for all and an academic mission aimed at offering pre and post-graduate teaching and research in primary medicine. Through the versatility of its skills, the Romand University Center of Forensic Medicine (CURML) has the mission to respond to all requests for expertise or advisory assistance in the fields of forensic medicine, medical law, and doping analysis. Located in the Lake Geneva region, its area of expertise operates at both a regional level and forensic imaging, performing, at the request of judicial authorities, forensic examinations that help resolve criminal or civil investigations. It is the link that connects the medical field to the judicial world and also receives special requests (mainly requests for expertise from institutions). It can also act in particular circumstances such as mass casualties of natural origin (landslides, tsunamis, etc.) or human (transport accidents, conflict victims, etc.). The unit also ensures pre/post-graduate and continuing education functions related to various professions (doctors, paramedics, police officers, etc.). You participate, under supervision, in the activities of the Unit of Medicine and Imaging. The main areas of activity are examinations (body recoveries and forensic autopsies), assessments of injuries and sexual assaults, and assessments related to post-mortem medical imaging techniques such as X-ray, CT scan, MRI, and post-mortem angiography, to visualize the inside of the body. You attend scientific seminars and participate in post-graduate courses in medicine and also have the opportunity to take part in research activities. You hold a medical degree or an equivalent title recognized by the Federal Medical Professions Commission (MEBEKO). You have one or more years of post-graduate training in forensic medicine or fields such as internal medicine, radiology, or surgery. The possession of an FMH title is not required, as beginners are also considered. Conscientious and reliable, you possess good stress resistance, enjoy working in a team, and maintain discretion. You have a perfect command of spoken and written French (for non-French speakers, a C1 level in spoken and written French is required). Another language (such as German, for example) is a plus.
