Social Housing Assistant Job Description The Social Refugee Center (CSIR), under the Department of Integration and Solidarity (DIRIS), is tasked with socially supporting and financially assisting refugees who have arrived in the canton of Vaud during the first years of their stay in Switzerland. As a Social Assistant in the Housing entity of the CSIR, you implement a process for obtaining and maintaining housing. Responsibilities - Implement a process for obtaining and maintaining housing, taking into account the socio-cultural realities of refugees, returning Swiss citizens from abroad, and victims of human trafficking, as well as local economic and political realities and the demands of the real estate market. - Coordinate the various organizations involved in the care of refugees and contingents, especially concerning housing (case manager). - Accompany, guide, and support beneficiaries in the various procedures related to obtaining and maintaining housing. - Participate in all specific tasks related to the general management of the CSIR or its activities and manage urgent situations related to housing loss. Profile - Bachelor’s degree in social work or a university degree in social sciences or at least 3 years of professional experience in social services, preferably in supporting and assisting refugees. - Professional experience in the real estate field is a major advantage. - Thorough methodological knowledge in encouraging and supporting, with a strong interest in the housing sector. - Proven capacity and flexibility. - Knowledge of social policies, federal and cantonal regulations, as well as social security systems and networks for social action. - Active listening and comprehension skills in written and oral English. - Knowledge of one or more foreign languages is an asset.
