The oncology department provides diagnostic and therapeutic care for adults suffering from cancer and for support for the patients and their relatives. The goal is to ensure access to the best cancer treatment, to offer appropriate care, and to anticipate the needs of hospitalized patients (bone marrow transplant, cell therapy, immunotherapy, etc.). Concurrently, the Cancer Center enables cross-disciplinary activities dedicated to cancer management among services and departments. It includes 4 oncology services (precision oncology and radiation oncology) and consists of about 300 highly specialized and recognized medical professionals, notably as the Romand center for allogeneic stem cell transplants. The diagnostic unit plays a central role, interfacing with other units of the department (transplant & cell therapy, lymphoid and myeloid), institutional departments as well as other hospital services.Clinic chief with specialty title - Service - 80% You will ensure the diagnostic management of benign or malignant conditions within the institution. You will also act as a medical referent for the service in an activity combining clinical and laboratory work. Your main tasks include blood and bone marrow cytological examinations, as well as flow cytometry exams, with a focus on the development of spectral cytometry in collaboration with the team. You will perform bone marrow aspirations and biopsies, closely collaborate with CMF, genetics, and molecular medicine, and other hospital services for intrahospital consultations, present cases at institutional tumor boards as an expert in cytology and flow cytometry, and contribute to the development of new skills as well as continuous projects within the service. You will also participate in the activity of the unit. Furthermore, you will supervise postgraduate doctors and contribute to teaching cytology and flow cytometry within the service. This position is open as part of a replacement. Depending on the profile and progression in the role, a later appointment to an assistant physician position may be considered. You hold a diploma in medicine or have an equivalent qualification recognized in Switzerland by the Medical Professions Commission of the Federal Office of Public Health (MEBEKO). You hold a diploma in cytopathology (FMH) or have an equivalent qualification recognized in Switzerland (MEBEKO). You hold or are in the process of acquiring the Swiss medical diploma (FAMH) in pathology or have an equivalent qualification recognized in Switzerland by MEBEKO. Additionally, a cantonal authorization is required for holders of a specialty title prior to entering. You have skills allowing you to work in a team in a complex environment, have a keen sense of organization and priorities. You demonstrate autonomy, great rigor, and an awareness of your responsibilities.
