The Vaud Hospitals Federation IT ( FHVi ) is the preferred IT partner of 12 hospitals and regional health institutions in the canton of Vaud. FHVi supports them in the many challenges of digital transformation in the healthcare sector and its main missions are to plan, design, implement and operate the IT system of its members. There are more than 120 employees serving 14,000 users, with a fleet of over 8,000 workstations spread across about a hundred geographical sites and three cantons (VD, VS, FR).
Technical Lead – Development/Integration
The position is open to both women and men. For ease of reading, masculine terms are used exclusively.
By joining our team responsible for development and integration, you will play a key role in the evolution and continuity of our hospital information system. Developments and integrations directly contribute to the smooth running of hospital institutions and the improvement of digital health services.
We are looking for an experienced profile capable of combining technical leadership, senior expertise and team support in a complex and critical IT environment.
The position has a hybrid dimension, combining operational management, technical reference and direct contribution to development and integration topics.
In a context of transformation of the hospital information system and evolution of the Development & Integration scope, you will actively contribute to several major strategic projects for FHVi. Among these is notably the replacement of the electronic patient record (EPR), a structuring challenge for the coming years requiring the definition and implementation of an ambitious technological and organisational roadmap.
Your mission:
You will be responsible for the operational management and hierarchical management of the Development and Integration teams, while ensuring a senior technical reference role for the staff.
You will be involved in technical management, arbitration, senior development and daily team support.
Your main activities and responsibilities:
Operational management of teams
- Ensure the operational management of two technical teams:
- Development Team (2 people)
- Integration / Interoperability Team (2 people)
- Ensure the supervision, support and development of team members.
- Organise and coordinate team activities.
- Monitor priorities, workloads and operational topics.
- Support staff in resolving technical and organisational issues.
- Ensure the quality of deliverables and compliance with best practices.
- Participate in recruitment, integration and skills development of staff.
Technical leadership & senior expertise
- Support teams on technical aspects:
- code review,
- technical arbitration,
- support and guidance,
- continuous improvement of practices.
- Participate in application architecture and integration choices.
- Guarantee the quality, maintainability and robustness of developments.
- Act as a senior developer on complex or critical topics.
Development & integration
- Participate in the evolution of application interfaces and integration platforms.
- Contribute to the design and evolution of APIs and application services.
- Supervise interoperability flows between different business applications.
- Collaborate with architects, application managers, business analysts and infrastructure teams.
Tools & environments
- Supervise Azure DevOps and VisualSVN environments.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of CI/CD processes and development standards.
- Contribute to the management of complex incidents and advanced technical support.

Profile sought:
Education:
- Degree in computer engineering (HES / EPF) or equivalent training.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience in development and integration of complex systems.
- Proven experience in Microsoft /.NET environment.
- Significant experience in technical coordination, leadership or operational team management.
- Experience in the hospital or healthcare sector is a strong asset.
Technical skills
- Excellent mastery of C# /.NET Core /.NET Framework.
- Very good knowledge of API, SOA and Microservices architectures.
- Strong skills in SQL and database design.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD environments.
- Good understanding of integration and interoperability issues.
- Knowledge of HL7 / FHIR standards appreciated.
- Knowledge of Mirth and/or Apache NiFi is a real plus.
