EPFL faces major challenges in Information System management. The Information Systems Domain (DSI) is responsible for implementing EPFL’s digital strategy. These missions include, through a combination of direct and matrix responsibilities, the development and implementation of EPFL’s IT strategy and master plan, the digitalisation of business processes, IT security, management of central IT infrastructures, management of core business applications, as well as coordination with the IT services of the Faculties.
DSI is looking for a SAP developer. The person in this position must be a specialist in ABAP and FIORI application development. Your primary mission is to assist us in the migration (to S/4) of our ERP. You will also ensure the maintenance and evolution of the SAP platform to meet business needs. You will participate in projects, working in partnership with various EPFL services and other external partners.
Your role
- Ensure developments in ABAP, ABAP OO, RAP, SAPUI5 and JavaScript of all types of programmes (Report, BADI, Classes, CDS, FIORI, etc.) possible within SAP systems
- Ensure the development of Workflows
- Use SAP BTP services
- Ensure the development of interfaces on SAP PO
- Configure authorisation management and OT transport tools
Lead or participate in projects and activities within your area of expertise
- Contribute to all project phases e.g.: scoping, design, implementation, testing, production deployment, go-live support
- Ensure that technical documentation is produced and accessible to the development team
- Follow or apply the project methodology in accordance with EPFL’s project management standards
- Analyse, configure and implement software components respecting current standards, conventions and best practices
Other tasks
- Develop and maintain SAP technical documentation
- Ensure good coordination with other functional and technical domains regarding SAP systems and/or in liaison with SAP
- Transfer skills to team colleagues
- Provide a service compliant with quality directives (e.g.: Hermes, ITIL) and audit guidelines
- Provide cover for a team colleague
- Technology watch: monitor SAP technological developments and assess their impact on the IS in place at EPFL
Corrective and evolutionary maintenance within support framework
- Manage and coordinate the resolution of tickets (incidents, requests, evolutions) assigned to the team, according to established SLAs, through the ITSM management tool
- Ensure and manage the implementation of change requests according to scope, time and resources agreed with the business
- Follow up incidents until resolution and keep the business informed of progress and resolution status
- Work closely with Service Managers and BRM to maintain a good level of service
- Higher education degree in computer science (HES, University or EPF) or equivalent training
- SAP - Experienced: SAP ABAP, ABAP OO, RAP, CDS, SAPUI5 and FIORI (minimum 3 years’ experience)
- Knowledge of SAP Process Orchestration, ChARM and S/4 HANA is a plus
- Experience using the Migration Cockpit
- Mastery of authorisations on SAP Backend and Fiori frontend
- Strong synthesis skills and good communication abilities
- Strong solution and client orientation
- Strong service mindset, seeking dialogue while having and defending convictions
- Rigor, precision, proactivity
- Languages: Excellent knowledge of French (C1) and English (B2), German is a plus
