As part of a night shelter project, the Social Action Department of the City of Neuchâtel is looking for a Night Watcher (m/f) at 70% until December 31. Service / Social Action Activities / You will be called upon to work as a night watcher for the emergency accommodation service “Sleep-in in the City of Neuchâtel.” In pairs, you will be responsible for the night reception of people experiencing homelessness. You will kindly welcome the beneficiaries within the Sleep-in. You will ensure the support between the hosted individuals and guide them towards daytime assistance structures if needed. You will also manage the logistical tasks inherent to the operation of the place. You will also have to fulfill certain tasks that allow for the project and its follow-up with the desired outcome. You have a strong interest in social issues and severe precariousness and have at least 3 years of professional experience in the social, health, or security fields. You are particularly comfortable in human interactions and know how to adopt a non-judgmental and respectful posture towards marginalized individuals. In stressful situations, you know how to react calmly and with composure. You are comfortable with teamwork and are familiar with basic tools. You possess sufficient resilience to work at night and under pressure. You have very good knowledge of the French language. Any other spoken language knowledge, especially in Arabic, as well as experience in the field of security, are advantages.
