We are looking for: An apprentice horticulturist, landscaping option. The Office of Parks and Promenades of the City of Neuchâtel is responsible for preserving, maintaining, and enhancing public landscaping throughout the municipal territory with respect for sustainable development and a focus on promoting biodiversity. Your main activities: Landscape design, based on plans and requests, you will participate in: – A construction site (measuring distances, calculating areas, staking, creating profiles, aligning templates); – Earthworks, various dismantling, installation of drainage (manholes, gutters, pipes, etc.); – The construction of retaining walls, stairs (in stone, slabs, wood), paths, squares, or curbs, and the management of play areas. Maintenance of green spaces: Depending on the season, you will participate in: – The planting of floral beds (annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees); – Beautification of graves; – Maintenance of cemeteries, recreational areas; – Lawn mowing, weeding, trimming of hedges, trees, and ornamental shrubs, etc. Your profile: – You want to learn, you are perseverant and reliable – You have good physical stamina, you enjoy being outdoors in all weather – You like to work in a team – You have successfully completed your schooling – You are interested in landscaping. If selected, you will complete an internship, allowing you to grasp the job and meet the team, but also for us to evaluate you.
