The Wastewater Operations Unit manages, operates and develops the pumping stations and treatment plants of the canton. It guarantees the performance of water, sludge and air treatment processes through mastery of electromechanical, biological and chemical processes, while ensuring compliance with regulatory, environmental and safety requirements.

As an Operations and Control Agent, you contribute to the smooth running of the Aïre treatment plant by joining a continuous shift operations team (3x8). In this role, you ensure optimal operation of the facilities in compliance with technical, environmental and safety requirements.

In this context, you will be expected to:

• Monitor and operate the water and sludge treatment facilities at the Aïre WWTP;
• Work closely with the foreman, operations team, engineers and unit manager to ensure the smooth technical and human operation of the facilities and contribute to solving complex issues;
• Actively participate, as a team member, in the development of the installations within your scope;
• Apply and enforce health and safety rules at work;
• Commit to ongoing training related to new technologies and operational practices.

Your personality and skills

You demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and adopt a positive and enterprising mindset. You are recognised for your reliability, commitment and sense of responsibility.
You enjoy fieldwork in a team within a demanding technical environment, and have good practical sense to analyse situations and propose appropriate solutions.

You have very good knowledge of the processes used in wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) and are able to monitor and operate them in compliance with current standards.

Your academic background:
You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a chemical operator, mechanic, electrician or equivalent training.
You also have at least 3 years’ professional experience in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities.
