Today, the Planning Department is recruiting:

An Urban Planner at 80-100%

Your mission:

You conduct studies and lead major urban development projects contributing to the development, sustainability, and quality of life of the municipality. In this capacity, you notably manage strategic local neighbourhood plans intended to sustainably transform the municipal territory. You carry out land and territorial studies to inform political decisions regarding urban development. As the key contact for various stakeholders, you negotiate and coordinate public-private partnerships to strengthen the municipality's control over territorial development and enhance the value of investments made. Proficient in the planning and land qualification instruments in force in Geneva, you support projects from feasibility studies through to the enforcement of zoning plans, and even their implementation, ensuring, if necessary, the preparation of deliberative acts submitted to municipal authorities. You also analyse reports related to building permits. Mobility issues are numerous in our municipality, and significant experience in this area is an asset.

Your profile:

Holder of a Bachelor’s degree or recognised equivalent or higher qualification in urban development, you also have at least 5 to 8 years of relevant professional experience for the position. You have contributed to concrete projects and achievements in Geneva and demonstrated a good knowledge of local legal and regulatory requirements.

Capable of working independently, you also appreciate contributing to a team that shares your values. Enthusiastic, you have a strong sense of public service. You possess excellent written and oral communication skills with all types of audiences. To this end, you have a perfect command of the French language as well as common office software tools.
