The Association for the Welfare of the Blind and Visually Impaired (ABA)

is a private non-profit association based in Geneva. Founded in 1901, its mission is to improve the quality of life, integration, and autonomy of people with visual impairments living in Geneva. With its three services, the Romande Braille and Talking Book Library (BBR), the Accessibility Competence Centre (CCA), and the Information and Rehabilitation Centre (CIR), the Association advises those affected, their relatives, and raises awareness among the general public. It is also active within the Geneva medico-social and political network and strives to promote the interests of blind and visually impaired people, to improve the daily lives of those affected by blindness or visual impairment and to support their educational, professional, and social integration.

To strengthen the administrative sector of the

Information and Rehabilitation Centre (CIR)

We are looking for

Two administrative employeesat 50% and 80%

Two positions are available: one at 50%, the other at 80%. Within a multidisciplinary service aimed at improving the quality of life, integration, and autonomy of visually impaired persons, you will undertake administrative tasks in close collaboration with social workers and occupational therapists.

The administrative sector is responsible for the telephone and physical reception of beneficiaries and manages the administrative aspects related to their care. The employees listen, inform, and guide. They facilitate the registration and care process by supporting beneficiaries as well as the teams of occupational therapists and social workers during their follow-ups.

Objectives of the position:

  • Telephone reception and welcoming beneficiaries
  • Administrative tasks related to beneficiary registration
  • Support for occupational therapists and social workers
  • Updating the beneficiary database
  • Billing of services
  • Administrative support to uphold beneficiaries’ rights and facilitate their access to social and occupational therapy services
  • Link and coordination with external providers (insurances, institutions, partners in the medico-social network)

Desired qualities and experience:

  • Several years of professional experience in administration, preferably in the health-social sector
  • Interest in working with people with disabilities
  • Aptitude for multidisciplinary work
  • Ability to work independently and transparently
  • Motivation and ability to work with diverse groups (children, adults, seniors)
  • Organisational skills and ability to prioritise
  • Analytical and synthesis skills
  • Communication skills, comfortable with human contact, empathy
  • Ability to manage difficult situations and provide appropriate responses to beneficiaries
  • Rigor and precision
  • Excellent command of the French language, good writing skills
  • Discretion

Required training and knowledge:

Recognised diploma or certificate as a commercial employee or medical secretary

Very good command of office software

Good knowledge of the Geneva medico-social network

Good knowledge of social insurance would be an asset
