Description
We are looking for a Battery Technician for one of our customers based in Geneva.
The Battery Technician will support research and development efforts in dry electrode process technology, focusing on the fabrication and testing of lithium-ion battery electrodes.Responsibilities:

Electrode Fabrication: Assist in the formulation and coating of battery electrode for both wet and dry electrodes.

Process Optimization: Support process development and optimization of dry battery electrode technology, including powder mixing, film formation, and lamination onto current collectors.

Cell Assembly: Assemble coin, and pouch in glovebox environment, ensuring quality control and safety.

Battery Testing: Conduct electrochemical testing (cycling, rate capability, and impedance,) using battery testers Neware and Biologic as directed by test protocols

Polymer Characterization: Perform polymer analysis according to defined testing standards such as tensile properties, DMA, FTIR, surface resistivity and SEM

Data Collection & Analysis: Record, the experimental data, assisting in technical reports and ensure testing and data recording activities meet required standards.

Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment such as mixers, calendaring machines, battery testers, and gloveboxes. (calibration and maintenance)

Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to the company core values and maintain laboratory safety protocols along with regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications:
1.Education Background
- Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Chemistry, Materials Science, Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. (Master's degree is a plus)
2.Work Experience

1-3 years of hands-on experience in a polymer test laboratory or polymer processing

Work experience in battery R&D, electrode preparation, or electrochemical testing (academic or industry). It would be a plus.
3.Skills and knowledge

Experience with dry powder mixing, calendering, and electrode fabrication.

Fine motor skills to perform small, delicate & detailed tasks

Experience working in a glovebox is a plus.

Ability to wear an air-line respirator, and climb ladders/steps donned in full PPE

Familiarity with electrochemical analysis (EIS, CV, charge/discharge cycling) is a plus.

Self-motivation, able to work independently to complete given tasks

Knowledge of polymer test methods and standards are a plus.

Data analysis capability via Excel is preferred.

Advanced computing skills such as data logging is a plus.

Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, teamwork, and effective communication skills.

English proficiency is required; French is a plus.
