Description
Well, we're looking for talented people who share our interests and values. Do you focus on the essential and do what you say? Do you try to make things simple and dare to be original in what you say and do? And most of all, do you excel in providing exceptional service every day?
We are looking for a Technical Project Manager with strong, hands-on Core Network expertise, who is motivated to lead projects and coordinate cross-functional teams and suppliers.
Your Responsibilities
• Lead small to medium-sized projects within the Core domain.
• Drive and facilitate architectural discussions with our core network vendor to define required evolutions in Salt’s core network.
• Lead internal technical forums to deliver new functionalities, resolve complex issues, and shape future solutions.
• Assess vendor technical proposals with a critical view on feasibility, practicality, timelines, cost–benefit, and long-term suitability.
• Review, refine, and finalize vendor scopes of work, ensuring they are ready for commercial negotiations.
• Own the 3-year Core Network Software & Hardware roadmap; steer roadmap discussions with our vendor and ensure alignment with Salt’s strategic direction.
• Collaborate with domain experts across the core network organization to build a shared vision and internal consensus.
• Prepare clear and impactful communication materials on core network evolution for internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Work as part of a team of architects and technical experts, contributing to shaping the future of Salt’s core network.
• Take full responsibility for your technical decisions, and lead selected projects to deliver the architectures, platforms, and processes you define.
What You Bring
• Master’s degree in Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in core Voice Network domains.
• 3+ years of experience leading small or medium-sized projects in the Telco environment.
• Deep expertise in Circuit-Switched (CS) and IMS networks.
• Proven hands-on experience working on live networks—not only in documentation, meetings, or RFP processes.
• Demonstrated capability in defining core network architectures and evolution strategies.
• Solid understanding of cloud environments and associated challenges.
• Experience with Nokia core network equipment is an advantage.
• A continuous learner mindset: curious, self-driven, resourceful, and comfortable starting projects outside your comfort zone.
• The ability to define a long-term vision while maintaining a pragmatic, grounded approach.
• Strong technology intuition: capable of evaluating the maturity and relevance of solutions with limited information and vendor input.
• Decisive yet thoughtful: able to act quickly when needed, but also judge when to wait for clarity.
• Confident in challenging assumptions and suppliers, open to feedback, and focused on making the best decision—regardless of the idea’s origin.
• Excellent analytical and abstract thinking skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
• A strong team player who collaborates effectively with colleagues and vendors—especially in hands-on, whiteboard-driven technical sessions.
• A top-down problem-solving approach: able to prioritize, distinguish blockers from details, and maintain focus on the big picture.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, capable of simplifying complex concepts for senior management and non-technical audiences.
• Approachable, friendly, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement.
• Fluency in English (C1). Additional languages are an asset.
What we offer
• Friendly and dynamic environment
• Competitive salary and benefit system
• Possibility to enlarge competences and experience due to fast moving and complex telco environment
