Internship in Analysis - Network of French-speaking VeterinariansJob DescriptionAs part of an intercantonal project led by the Association of Swiss Cantonal Veterinarians (ASVC) West Region, the Directorate of Veterinary Affairs of the Canton of Vaud (DAVI) is recruiting a master's intern for a 6-month mission, in collaboration with the cantons of Fribourg and Neuchâtel. In Switzerland, the diagnosis of epizootic diseases is ensured by a network of public and private laboratories approved by the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (FSVO). In the cantons of Vaud, Fribourg, and Neuchâtel, the veterinary services each operate a public laboratory functioning as a network, distributing analyses across a wide range of pathogens related to epizootic diseases to be eradicated, monitored, or controlled. This French-speaking network plays a role in regional response capacity to animal health crises, as demonstrated in the past by episodes of tuberculosis, BVD, bluetongue, or avian influenza. In a context of accelerated regulatory evolution: progressive alignment with European directives, emergence of new diseases linked to global warming, and completion of certain control programs; this network must anticipate the consequences and impacts on its activities. The intern will contribute to analyzing these issues and proposing measures to sustainably guarantee the quality of veterinary diagnosis, compliance with legal bases, and the efficiency of the French-speaking network.Responsibilities- Analyze the current situation of the network of veterinary laboratories in the cantons of Vaud, Fribourg, and Neuchâtel- Identify factors likely to influence the evolution of diagnostic analyses in the medium term- Develop prospective scenarios for the evolution of surveillance programs- Evaluate the potential impacts of these scenarios on the organization and resources of laboratories- Assess needs in terms of succession planning for management and unit leadership- Propose variants of measures to guarantee diagnostic quality and legal compliance- Write a final report intended for the cantonal veterinarians of the three cantonsThe complete project description for the thesis is available at the following link.We invite you to submit your complete application file (CV, cover letter, diplomas, work certificates) via the online job portal.Profile- Master's student (university or university of applied sciences) in veterinary medicine, biology or life sciences, management and public action, or health sciences- Ability to conduct rigorous documentary analysis and semi-structured interviews- Proficiency in French (working language); knowledge of German is an asset- Interest in veterinary public policies and health risk management- Analytical mind, autonomy, and sense of synthesisWho are we?The Directorate General for Agriculture, Viticulture and Veterinary Affairs (DGAV) is one of the entities of the Department of Agriculture, Sustainability and Digital Affairs (DADN).
