Software Platform Engineer (m/f/d)

On behalf of our banking client based in Geneva, we are looking for a Software Platform Engineer (m/f/d) responsible for designing, developing, operating, and evolving on-prem and cloud hosting platforms, with a high level of requirements in terms of reliability, security, automation, and continuous improvement.
Your mission
- Design, develop, operate, and evolve on-prem and cloud hosting platforms ensuring their availability, resilience, and maintainability.
- Develop internal APIs, tools, and automations aimed at improving operational efficiency, standardising practices, and reducing operational risks.
- Manage the lifecycle of platforms and services in production, including deployment, containerisation, observability, commissioning, and resolution of complex incidents.
- Promote and implement modern software engineering, CI/CD, DevOps, and SRE practices to industrialise solutions and raise their quality level.
- Lead or coordinate key technical topics, contribute to the platform roadmap, support teams on best practices, and participate in on-call duty on a rotation basis.
Your profile
- Higher education in IT, software engineering, engineering, or equivalent, with proven experience of at least 5 years in a Platform Engineer, Software Engineer, SRE, or equivalent role.
- Very good mastery of software development and scripting, with demonstrated ability to design technical components, internal tools, or APIs; Python required, experience in Go, Java, Bash, or PowerShell is an asset.
- Strong command of software engineering practices: code quality, testability, code review, maintainability, CI/CD, and deployment automation.
- Significant experience with platform and infrastructure environments, including Linux, virtualisation, containerisation, observability, logging, configuration management, as well as cloud and on-prem environments.
- Good understanding of cross-cutting architecture topics such as integration, security, networking, and IAM in demanding production environments.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, to manage technical topics end-to-end, advise other teams, and advance practices with pedagogy.
- Fluent in French and English, with Swiss residency or willingness to relocate for the position.
