Software Engineer Integration & Automation

You develop and maintain software solutions that connect laboratory instruments, automation systems, robotics platforms and enterprise applications.

Tasks

Develop, maintain and enhance laboratory software solutions for system integration, automation and connectivity
Design, maintain and improve laboratory automation and robotics solutions, including robot programming platforms
Own robotic cells used for demonstration, exploration of new use cases and feasibility studies
Collaborate with global development teams, business stakeholders, integration partners and vendors
Provide technical consulting and engineering support for internal and external stakeholders
Ensure high software quality through testing, documentation, deployment and secure development practices
Support advanced robotics environments, AI-enabled automation solutions and simulation environments

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related technical discipline
Several years of professional experience in software development, ideally in system integration environments
Strong object-oriented programming skills, ideally in .NET/C#, Web-based programming and Python
Understanding of software engineering best practices including source control, code reviews, automated testing and CI/CD
Familiarity with REST/SOAP APIs, OPC UA, XML/JSON, cloud technologies, Docker, Kubernetes and authentication technologies
Ideally experience with robot programming platforms and industrial robot controllers
Fluent in English (oral and written); German language skills are a plus
