The International School Basel (ISB) is an English-language international day school for students from ages 3 to 18. ISB is home to approximately 1,110 students who enjoy modern purpose-built facilities on three campuses clustered a few kilometers south of Basel in the towns of Reinach and Aesch. ISB is an International Baccalaureate World School offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for younger students aged 3 to 11, the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for students aged 11 to 16 and the Diploma Programme (DP) for students in the final two years of their school careers. ISB is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

THE POSITION

ISB seeks to appoint a passionate and dedicated Senior School Librarian (100%) to join our Senior School Academic Team, starting in 2027. The successful candidate will lead the Senior School Library, creating an engaging, inclusive and stimulating environment that supports students’ learning, research and academic development across Grades 9– ideal candidate will bring experience working in an international or secondary school environment, a strong understanding of library and information services, and a passion for developing students’ information literacy, research and critical-thinking skills. They will work closely with teachers and academic teams to ensure that the library is an integral part of teaching and learning, while also fostering a strong culture of reading and encouraging students to engage independently with a diverse range of with the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP), particularly in supporting research, academic integrity and inquiry-based learning, would be an advantage.
