Role \& Responsibilities
As Senior Data Protection \& Recovery Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, operation and continuous improvement of a mission\-critical backup and disaster recovery environment protecting highly sensitive enterprise systems and data assets. You will work closely with infrastructure, storage and platform teams to ensure resilience, recoverability and compliance across complex enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and optimize enterprise backup, recovery and retention services
Execute and document disaster recovery and recovery validation exercises
Design and implement automation and monitoring solutions for backup operations
Contribute to backup platform upgrades, modernization initiatives and migration projects
Perform root\-cause investigations related to backup and recovery failures
Collaborate with storage, virtualization and infrastructure teams
Participate in operational support and on\-call rotations
Candidate Profile
You hold a university\-level qualification in Computer Science or a related discipline and bring several years of current, hands\-on experience working with enterprise backup platforms in large\-scale environments.
Additionally:
Minimum 3\-5 years of experience administering enterprise backup solutions
Proven experience with data recovery testing and disaster recovery exercises
Strong knowledge of SAN storage environments and enterprise storage concepts
Hands\-on experience with Linux (preferably Red Hat) and Windows Server environments
Familiarity with UNIX\-based operating systems
Experience automating operational procedures using scripting languages and automation tools
Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure migration and modernization projects
ITIL knowledge required; TOGAF certification advantageous
Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities
Fluent in English; German and/or French advantageous
Valid CH work permit or EU/EFTA citizenship required
Willingness to work 100% on\-site
