Role Summary:
The person in this role will be part of the Global Period team and play a key role in the strategic development of Clarksons’ Handymax period business in Geneva.
What you’ll be doing:
Lead the Handymax Period Desk for Geneva, with key input into strategy, client engagement, and commercial execution.
Expand Clarksons’ market share in the Handymax period segment through targeted business development.
Manage long-term chartering strategies and negotiate time charter contracts.
Coordinate with global offices to align cross-market opportunities and ensure seamless client service.
Leverage existing relationships with top-tier clients.
Act as a strategic liaison for Clarksons’ engagement, supporting long-term account development.
Undertake additional/ad hoc duties to support business objectives.

Other requirements:
Extensive experience of the Dry Cargo market and Period segment (minimum 10 years).
Deep understanding of European Dry Cargo markets and period trading.
Experience of managing high-value client accounts within the Dry Cargo market.
Proven leadership in both brokerage and management roles in Shipping hubs within Europe.
Experience of building teams and mentoring junior brokers.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Demonstrated ability to combine market analytics with commercial negotiation to deliver results.
High resilience and adaptability.
Effective communicator, with a collaborative approach able to work in fast-paced, multioffice environments.
Excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to convey market insights clearly.
Willingness to travel and engage in client events globally.
