On behalf of our client, a leading international bank based in Geneva, we are seeking a Senior Application Engineer – Core Banking (Production & Architecture) for a 6-month full-time assignment in Geneva. Within the IT - Business Application Management department, you will play a key role in managing, supporting, and evolving critical applications related to banking activities. You will operate in a demanding environment where system availability, performance, and reliability are essential. You will also contribute to application architecture discussions and actively participate in the continuous improvement of operational processes and technology platforms.

Main Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for and support critical applications in a production environment (N2/N3 level)
• Act as the primary contact point during complex incidents, ensuring rapid resolution and effective communication with stakeholders
• Conduct thorough root cause analyses and implement sustainable solutions.
• Improve system reliability, monitoring tools, and operational processes
• Contribute to application architecture evolutions and strategic technical decisions
• Collaborate closely with Infrastructure and DevOps teams
• Participate in production releases, changes, and deployments in compliance with established procedures
• Supervise and manage batch processing as well as daily operations
• Identify and implement opportunities for automation and process optimisation
• Share your knowledge and support the skills development of other team members

We are looking for a profile meeting the following criteria:

• Proven experience in N2/N3 application support within complex or critical environments
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills covering applications, infrastructure, and integrations
• Good understanding of system architectures and application design principles
• Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux environments
• Proficiency in SQL and ability to analyse data
• Knowledge of incident, problem, and change management processes according to ITIL best practices
• Ability to work under pressure and effectively manage critical production situations
• Experience with Temenos T24 (Transact) is an asset
• Experience in the banking or financial services sector is appreciated
• Familiarity with modern platforms such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, or similar technologies
• Understanding of APIs and application integration models
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools
• Scripting and automation skills are valued
