Faviens is a boutique AI company in Zürich, agentic systems in particular. We work with clients across Switzerland, up to the largest companies in the country, on the problems that slow their businesses down. We build agentic AI applications on the current edge of what the tooling allows, and run them in production, in the cloud or on premises. Our own operating model is fully agentic, across every part of the company. We move fast, and are lean enough to stay current with the latest AI tools. We have fewer layers than a large consultancy or corporation, and a learning curve that is steep, focused and uncomplicated.

Faviens is led by a team with a decade in ML and AI on one side. On the other, two decades of business and business development experience at some of the world's largest tech companies and at fast-scaling scaleups. We are looking for proactive, goal-oriented self-starters that want to create change end-to-end. Come and build high-end agentic AI for our clients, and the engine the company itself runs on.

Role Description

The Senior AI Engineer builds agentic systems for our clients and takes them into

production. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Zürich.

For engineers who want the whole app lifecycle, from the first client conversation to the system that runs afterwards, and a lot of say in how it gets built.

• Build complex agentic systems and take them into production, together with the evaluation and guardrails that say whether a non-deterministic system got better or worse.
• Operationalise AI and data products in the cloud, or on premises, with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability and cost control.
• Bring data engineering best practices to the pipelines and transformations these systems depend on, and to the models that run on top.
• Set the engineering pace, with gen AI coding tools fully leveraged on top of a strong software engineering foundation.
• Work directly with client business units and IT, from the first conversation through to the running system.
• Bring clients along with workshops and upskilling, so they can operate what we built.

Qualifications

• Strong agentic and generative AI experience in production. Agent architecture, harness design, LLM orchestration, evaluation and guardrails. A complex system you delivered that someone still operates.
• Cloud engineering with infrastructure as code, Terraform in particular. GCP for preference, Azure or AWS equally welcome.
• Data engineering delivered end to end. Ingestion, transformation and pipelines you have run in production, with the schema and data quality decisions behind them. Data science on top of that is a plus.
• Software engineering strong enough to design system architecture and write the code by hand, in particular, and the fluency to drive gen AI coding tools far enough that most of the build runs autonomously.
• Comfort working directly with a business, and the judgement to say when AI is not the answer. An industry or consulting background helps; enthusiasm for working directly with clients is a must.
• English as a working language, in writing and in front of a client. German strongly encouraged, though not a requirement. Work authorisation for Switzerland, or an existing right to relocate here.
• The part a CV does not show. You have fun starting things, you proactively look for solutions, and you hold your work to the highest standard. What you get back is creative freedom, like-minded colleagues, and projects that are truly yours.

Die Rolle

Vollzeit und hybrid in Zürich. Für AI Engineers, die das ganze Problem überblicken wollen, vom ersten Kundengespräch bis zur finalen Applikation, und viel Gestaltungsspielraum, wie es gebaut wird.

• Komplexe agentische Systeme bauen und in Produktion bringen, zusammen mit der Evaluation und den Leitplanken, die zeigen, ob ein nicht-deterministisches System besser oder schlechter geworden ist.
• KI- und Datenprodukte in der Cloud oder on premises betreiben, mit Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, Observability und Kostenkontrolle.
• Data-Engineering-Best-Practices in die Pipelines und Transformationen bringen, auf denen diese Systeme aufbauen, und in die Modelle, die darauf laufen.
• Das Entwicklungstempo setzen, mit konsequent genutzten Gen-AI-Coding-Tools auf einem starken Software-Engineering-Fundament.
• Direkt mit Fachbereich und IT des Kunden arbeiten, vom ersten Gespräch bis zum laufenden System.
• Kunden mit Workshops und Upskilling mitnehmen, damit sie betreiben können, was wir gebaut haben.

Qualifikationen

• Starke Erfahrung mit agentischer und generativer KI in Produktion. Agentenarchitektur, Harness-Design, LLM-Orchestrierung, Evaluation und Leitplanken. Ein komplexes System, das Du ausgeliefert haben und das jemand heute noch betreibt.
• Cloud Engineering mit Infrastructure as Code, insbesondere Terraform. GCP bevorzugt, Azure oder AWS ebenso willkommen.
• Data Engineering durchgängig geliefert. Ingestion, Transformation und Pipelines, die Du in Produktion betrieben hast, mit den Schema- und Datenqualitätsentscheidungen dahinter. Data Science dazu ist ein Plus.
• Software Engineering stark genug, um Systemarchitektur zu entwerfen und Code von Hand zu schreiben, insbesondere , und die Souveränität, Gen-AI-Coding-Tools so weit zu treiben, dass der grösste Teil des Baus autonom läuft.
• Sicher im direkten Kontakt mit dem Geschäft, und das Urteilsvermögen zu sagen, wann KI nicht die Antwort ist. Ein Industrie- oder Beratungshintergrund hilft; Freude an der direkten Arbeit mit Kunden ist Pflicht.
• Englisch als Arbeitssprache, schriftlich und vor dem Kunden. Deutsch ausdrücklich erwünscht, aber keine Voraussetzung. Arbeitsberechtigung in der Schweiz oder ein bestehendes Recht, hierher zu ziehen.
• Der Teil, den ein Lebenslauf nicht zeigt. Du hast Freude daran, Dinge ins Rollen zu bringen, suchst selbstständig nach Lösungen und legst an Deiner Arbeit den höchsten Massstab an.
