The Digital Investigation Unit (IN) within the Neuchâtel Police (PONE) is a specialised unit attached to the Judicial Police (PJ) under the Traces and Criminal Analysis Department (DTA). Its main missions include conducting scientific and digital investigations both at crime or accident scenes and in digital environments, analysing and exploiting digital traces to provide relevant evidence during judicial investigations. It is also competent in applying technical surveillance means within the framework of judicial procedures or urgent searches.
Your missions
As a scientific investigator IN, you collect, analyse and exploit digital traces on physical media, networks or the internet to contribute to investigations and the resolution of criminal issues. Additionally, you advise, guide and train the police and judicial authorities in the field of digital investigation. In parallel, you write reports for police and judicial authorities, while also intervening at crime scenes and undertaking on-call duties (irregular hours and weekend work). Within the framework of judicial procedures or urgent searches, you implement technical surveillance means. Finally, you contribute to the development of software or hardware solutions for the internal needs of the unit.
Your profile
You hold a university degree (bachelor's, master's) in computer science, communication systems, embedded computing, digital investigation or an equivalent qualification. Mastery of IP network technologies, embedded computing, electronics or software development is an asset. With good analytical and synthesis skills, you demonstrate interpersonal intelligence, know how to integrate new technologies and maintain a good general knowledge of crime and its evolution. Oral knowledge of a second language, preferably German or English (B1), is part of your skills.
Swiss citizen or holder of a C permit, you have a driving licence (cat. B) and a clean criminal record. You reside in Switzerland and are able to reach the canton of Neuchâtel within 30 minutes during your on-call duties.
