Institution of the City of Geneva, the Ariana Museum (ARI) – Swiss museum of ceramics and glass – is dedicated to the arts of fire. It preserves nearly 30,000 works and collections of objects covering a study period of twelve centuries, from the Middle Ages to the present day, and develops exhibitions as well as numerous activities aimed at the public each year. At the crossroads of conservation, research and the enhancement of collections, the museum is engaged in a dynamic evolution of its practices, notably through the development of its documentary and digital tools. Your mission and responsibilities

- Actively contribute to the management, enrichment and enhancement of the collections, at the heart of the scientific activities of the Ariana Museum.

- Ensure the inventory, cataloguing and online publication of works, ensuring compliance with international standards (notably SPECTRUM) and the quality of the data produced.

- Act as a reference person for collection management tools (Museum+), participate in their development, evolution and adoption within the team, notably through user training.

- Contribute to the structuring and interconnection of databases (documentary, archival and library) to better exploit the museum’s resources.

- Conduct data analyses from the collections and produce high value-added reports (reports, visualisations, summaries) to support the institution’s scientific and strategic projects.

- Develop, organise and manage scientific documentation (provenance, archives, artist files) ensuring its reliability and accessibility.

- Contribute to the production and dissemination of knowledge: writing scientific articles, producing digital content, participating in research projects and online exhibitions.

- Participate in the museum’s scientific reflection on contemporary issues related to collections (intersectional approaches, new readings, digital enhancement) and contribute to the coordination of research projects, in line with the institution’s strategic orientations and internal and external partners.

Your profile

- Hold a Master’s degree in art history, artistic studies, philosophy, literature, and have at least 5 years of professional experience in a museum institution or comparable environment, related to collection management.
- Have excellent command of common IT tools (MS Office) and be comfortable with complex digital environments.
- Demonstrate a particular sensitivity to issues related to metadata and information structuring.
- Possess excellent analytical and synthesis skills and be able to process complex data and present it clearly and structurally.
- Have strong writing skills and be capable of producing quality scientific content.
- Be able to work in cross-functional environments, contribute to projects involving multiple stakeholders and demonstrate autonomy while adopting a collaborative approach.
- Have a good foundation in project management and appreciate roles combining reflection, coordination and operational support.
- Master French at a minimum C1 level and English at a minimum B2 level; B2 level in German is desirable. Knowledge of other languages (Mandarin, Japanese, Arabic) is an asset.
- Experience with a collection management system (such as Museum+) is a major advantage.
