The consultant is expected to start September 2026 and for an initial 6 months contract with a possibility of extension. The project will be a remote position with occasional travel for workshops, go lives etc

Role:
Senior Expert SAP BTP Developer to develop the full-stack components and process automation layers of our new Instrument Lifecycle Management (ILM) tool. Instead of leading the high-level technical design, this developer will work in close alignment with the System Architect and the ILM BTP Architect to translate architectural blueprints into high-quality code and automated workflows.
Requirements:

7+ years of experience in SAP focused development

4+ years heavily focused on full-stack SAP BTP (CAPM + UI5) engineering and SAP Build Process Automation (BPA)

Previous experience working in a global company

Highly self-motivated and organised

Responsibilities:

Architectural Alignment & Execution: Collaboratively align development and configurations with the System Architect and ILM BTP Architect, ensuring all deliverables comply with defined project standards.

Process Automation (SAP BPA): Design, configure, and deploy automated workflows, business rules, and multi-level approval steps within SAP Build Process Automation to orchestrate instrument ordering and approval lifecycles.

Backend Development (CAPM): Build secure, optimized, and scalable backend services using CAPM (Node.js or Java), handling custom business logic, OData service creation, and data modeling.

Frontend Development (UI5): Create high-performance, user-centric interfaces using SAP UI5 / Fiori to provide a seamless user experience for managing instrument workflows and checking process statuses.

Proactive Delivery & Ownership: Demonstrate a strong, independent sense of responsibility to complete all necessary steps to get configurations fully done, tested, and released across the landscape.

Systems Integration: Implement robust, event-driven integration flows utilizing BTP to connect core SAP structures with satellite platforms (Conga, Salesforce) and trigger downstream BPA workflows.

Kind regards, Mike
