You lead and support regulatory projects of FINMA and contribute the specialised expertise of the financial market supervisory authority to national legislative projects.


Legal Expert Regulation & Policy (m/f/d)


FINMA supervises the Swiss financial market. It protects the interests of investors, creditors and insured persons and contributes with its supervision to the stability and competitiveness of financial market participants. Main tasks

  • Participation in current policy and regulatory initiatives across the entire financial market law
  • Monitoring regulatory developments in the financial sector in a national and international context
  • Collaboration in cross-divisional FINMA-internal as well as inter-authority national regulatory projects
  • Development of regulatory options and preparation of ordinance and circular texts, accompanying materials as well as contributions to laws and ordinances at the federal level
  • Support of consultations and ex-post analyses of FINMA regulations and representation of FINMA vis-à-vis the private sector and other federal offices
  • Support of supervisory areas in policy and regulatory matters as well as participation in the further development and implementation of FINMA’s strategy for supervision and regulation

Profile

  • Lawyer (m/f/d), ideally with additional qualifications (e.g. bar exam, doctorate, LL.M.)
  • Knowledge of financial market law as well as relevant professional experience in the administration, a law firm, banking or insurance environment
  • Good knowledge of constitutional and political processes at the federal level as well as experience with project work
  • Experience in project management and enthusiasm for planning and successfully implementing projects
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and editorial skills as well as high initiative, independence and teamwork skills
  • Very good German skills (C2) with good knowledge of another official language and good English skills
