PERMANENT PROTOTYPERPositioningWithin the Technical Department of the Hermès Leather Goods and Saddlery Division, the Prototyper is based at the Bureau des Orfèvres. They report to the Head of the Metal Mock-up Unit.ScopeEach year, the Prototypers at the Bureau des Orfèvres manufacture more than [number redacted] metal prototypes of all types (clasps, locks, snap hooks, belt buckles, bracelets, etc.). The development duration of a project varies from a few hours to several weeks depending on its complexity.Position DimensionsConstant interactions and exchanges with all teams at the Bureau des Orfèvres and occasionally in connection with the Métier teams (Collection, development) as well as with our various partners.Position PurposeThe Prototyper ensures the end-to-end production of functional and industrializable metal parts for all collections and non-collection requests, while respecting the allotted deadlines.Main ActivitiesUnder the direction of the Head of the Metal Mock-up Unit, the Prototyper will have the following missions:- Machining of simple and complex parts, in compliance with plans, quality requirements, and deadlines.- Complete production, from end to end, of metal prototypes (from the preparation of blanks, machining, assembly, flame welding to finishing).- Contribution to the design and development of complex mechanical systems (clasps, etc.).- Monitoring of the manufacturing process at our Partners' sites.- Feasibility analysis and proposal of technical solutions.- Contribution to the life of the workshop: application of 5S standards, restocking of consumables and tooling, preventive maintenance actions.Profile and Skills- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Art Crafts environment (Goldsmith, Bronzier, Jeweler, Watchmaker) having allowed for the acquisition of skills in metalworking.- Mastery of conventional machine tools: manual milling machine, manual lathe, circular saw, column drills, emery lapidary, belt sander, etc.- Knowledge of mechanical assembly techniques, flame welding.- Mastery of CNC machining techniques and associated constraints.- Ability to design mechanisms is a plus.- Excellent aptitude and mastery of traditional manual techniques: cutting, drilling, polishing with tools such as files, buff sticks, jeweler's saw. Hand motor polishing, bench grinder polishing, mechanical and functional adjustment-assembly.- Essential knowledge of metal processes (machining, foundry, stamping, folding, bending, rolling) and their technical characteristics (compositions and alloys).- Appreciates teamwork and exchanges, is curious and open-minded, eager to learn, and proactive.- Curious, rigorous, demanding, meticulous with attention to detail.- Proactive, sense of service, passion for technique, beautiful objects, the aesthetics of parts, and interest in the traditional know-how of the Métiers d'Art.Keys to Success- Functionality and quality of parts.- Professional posture. jidffa67c8aen jit0624aen jpiy26aen
