The Le Temps group brings together Le Temps and Geneva Solutions, and employs nearly 160 people.In the context of a replacement related to leave, we are looking for a:Proofreader (80%) (Fixed-term contract - 5 months)Your mission:Your role within our editorial team will consist of correcting and revising articles before their publication on our website and in our printed newspaper.Your tasks:- Editorial revision and correction: Proofread, correct, and optimize articles for the daily edition, magazines, and supplements. Rigorously track spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax errors and ensure the fluidity of the style.- Guarantee of the typographic charter: Control strict compliance with typographic rules (French and specific to Switzerland) and harmonize lexical or spelling choices within the articles.- Quality control of the form: Ensure a rigorous final proofreading (headlines, leads, captions, boxes) to guarantee that the high-quality standard of Le Temps is applied to all content, both printed and digital.- Editorial collaboration: Exchange constructively and quickly with journalists, section editors, and the editorial secretariat to validate corrections or clarify points of ambiguity.- Management of the news flow: Work at the pace of news production, often under tight deadlines (continuous flow for the web and print closing).Your profile:- Higher education in literature, linguistics, journalism, or equivalent, ideally supplemented by a proofreader certification.- Confirmed experience (2 to 3 years minimum) in a similar function, preferably within a daily press editorial office, an online media outlet, or a publishing house.- Excellent command of French (or absolute mastery and equivalent bilingualism), endowed with impeccable spelling and excellent general knowledge.- Excellent knowledge of Swiss French typographic specificities (writing rules and usages in Switzerland).- Ease with digital tools and press management systems (CMS, copy tracking tools).Personal qualities:- Absolute rigor, keen sense of detail, team spirit, and diplomacy in interactions with authors.- Flexibility regarding schedules related to the constraints of a daily newspaper (work possible in the late afternoon/evening).We offer you:- The opportunity to join a dynamic team on a human scale.- A stimulating work environment that fosters autonomy, decision-making, and professional development.- A pleasant working environment, in bright and modern premises, ideally located and easily accessible by public transport.Terms of employment:- Fixed-term contract (5 months)- Activity rate: 80%We look forward to receiving your application.
