Job Description

The Directorate General for Mobility and Roads DGMR is seeking, for the civil engineering structures and natural forces damage section of its infrastructure division, a project manager specialist in civil engineering structures.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage projects related to bridges and retaining structures, relying on internal and external resources.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable ordinances, laws, directives or standards, in the context of implementing the directions chosen by management.
  • Manage the cantonal heritage of bridges, walls, jetties, etc., and organise monitoring by planning periodic inspections.
  • Ensure control of services provided by various service providers and companies.
  • Manage and issue permits for special transport operations.

Qualifications

  • Degree in civil engineering from EPFL or HES, or equivalent training, in a field relevant to the role.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a civil engineering sector (technical offices, companies) for project or construction management services.
  • Organisational and planning skills; analytical and synthesis abilities.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations and directives in all areas where the civil engineering structures specialist may be appointed as project manager.

  • Driving licence (category B) essential.
