The Program Manager acts as a pivotal leader in driving technical customer projects within the Product Line organization, overseeing the journey from order intake to prototype execution and ensuring readiness for series production at designated manufacturing sites. This role serves as the main technical liaison and trusted partner for customers post-order placement, merging structured project leadership with practical operational coordination.
Your Responsibilities
- End-to-End Project Execution: Spearhead technical customer projects from order intake through prototype validation to series production readiness, guaranteeing timely, budget-friendly delivery and seamless operational handover.
- Risk Management & Quality Planning: Formulate comprehensive project plans, utilize APQP methods and FMEAs for risk mitigation, and organize technical trials to validate components according to customer specifications.
- Primary Customer Interface: Act as the main technical contact for customers during project execution, managing all specifications, validation reports, and proactive troubleshooting to ensure maximum satisfaction.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate efforts between internal and external teams across engineering, production, quality, and sales to ensure operational readiness.
- Cost Control & Resource Optimization: Supervise project budgets, enhance personnel and resource utilization, and uphold exceptional economic performance without sacrificing quality.
- Continuous Improvement & Strategy: Propel post-project feedback loops and continuous improvement initiatives to align technical execution with broader business and strategic objectives.
Our Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Initial project management experience, ideally in the automotive supplier or rubber manufacturing sector. Proven success in managing technical projects from order intake to production launch, covering concept, prototyping, series validation, APQP/PPAP processes, and customer program execution.
- Knowledge of product realization projects, rubber manufacturing (molding, post-molding, and validation), and quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949). Proficiency in essential quality tools such as FMEA, APQP, PPAP, and SPC to ensure adherence to customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple technical customer projects concurrently, from meticulous planning and milestone monitoring to comprehensive execution ownership, aligning deliverables with business strategies, timelines, budgets, and operational excellence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude with a proactive, solution-oriented approach. Highly organized and structured, adept at managing competing priorities in a dynamic setting. Fluency in English and German (both at C1 level) is required.
