Production Test Technician

What to expect
We are looking for a Production Test Technician to join our Production Team based in Geneva. As a Test Technician, you will be part of a cross-functional team helping IonQ build the world's leading quantum computing platforms capable of solving some of the world's most complex problems.
What you'll be doing
In this role you will be responsible for the testing and characterisation of Superconducting Nanowire Single-Photon Detectors (SNSPDs), while supporting operational activities that ensure the efficient, reliable and high-quality execution of our production processes. You'll work in a highly technical environment where attention to detail, reliability and strict adherence to procedures and quality standards are essential.
What you'll bring
As an SNSPD Production Test Technician, you will play a key role in testing and characterising SNSPD detectors in accordance with established procedures and quality requirements. You will operate and maintain cryogenic systems, including filling and emptying cryostats, identify and troubleshoot testing anomalies, maintain accurate inventory and traceability records, and work closely with engineers, technicians and the wider production team to support manufacturing activities, continuous process improvements and the delivery of high-quality products.
Key responsibilities
Test and characterise SNSPD detectors, identify and troubleshoot issues, and accurately document results to ensure full operational traceability.
Operate and maintain cryogenic systems, including the filling and emptying of cryostats, while managing detector inventory and ensuring accurate tracking of components and materials.
Collaborate with engineers, technicians and the wider production team to support production activities, continuous process improvement and the highest quality standards.
You'll be a great fit with
A Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in Physics, Engineering or a related discipline is considered an advantage.
1-3 years previous experience in a testing, laboratory or production environment.
Experience working with cryogenic systems is highly desirable.
Excellent attention to detail, reliability and the ability to follow precise procedures.
A collaborative approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
