Nyon | %What you can contribute Postdoc in entomological virology: baculoviruses and crop protection Nyon | %What you can contribute Conduct the research of the NoctuVir project on baculoviruses against noctuids Develop and test existing/innovative approaches to improve the efficacy of baculoviruses Identify and characterize new baculoviruses of interest, with a particular focus on their molecular (genome, diversity, genetics related to virulence and host) and biological (virulence, infection kinetics, host range, mortality parameters) aspects using microscopy diagnostics and high-throughput sequencing Conduct tunnel trials and assess the efficacy of viral solutions in a closely coordinated environment with project partners (industry, research institutes, vegetable sectors) and contribute to the development of sustainable controls Publish in journals, present at conferences, contribute to third-party and internal projects, and gather insights that make you unique Knowledge and experience in baculoviruses and/or viruses and/or equivalent research experience in entomology, virology, and plant protection Experience in insect rearing, bioassays, and working with biocontrol agents; specific experience with baculoviruses, virus molecular analysis, and/or genetics is significant Good knowledge of molecular biology, ideally supplemented by experience in high-throughput sequencing Good skills in experimental design (tunnel/open field) Knowledge of two official languages and English In a few words Motivated, independent, rigorous individual, enjoying multidisciplinary teamwork and collaboration with external partners.
