Missions

Your main responsibilities will include:

- Offering clear and strategic counsel on invention protection and portfolio development for Novartis R&D teams.

- Building and managing patent portfolios by identifying inventions and handling patent filings.

- Rendering legal opinions on patentability and developing strategies to bolster intellectual property positions.

- Applying knowledge of national patent law to inform strategic decisions and advice.

- Collaborating with external counsel and conducting due diligence on patent matters.

- Providing transactional IP support, including contract drafting and negotiation.

- Ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work that aligns with business objectives and budgets.

Profil

The ideal candidate will possess:

- A university degree in law and qualifications as a European Patent Attorney.

- An advanced degree in chemistry or a related field, with a preference for a doctoral degree.

- Significant experience as a patent attorney in a legal firm or within the pharmaceutical sector.

- Strong technical expertise in chemistry, particularly in small molecules and pharmaceutical development.

- In-depth knowledge of U.S. and PCT patent law, as well as European patent systems.

- Proven ability to provide strategic IP advice while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

At Novartis, we value your contributions and offer an anticipated annual base salary between CHF 146,300 and CHF 271,700. Salary assessments are conducted based on gender-neutral objectives including relevant skills and experience.
