At the heart of the on-call service of the Neuchâtel Medical Centre, you will join a committed nursing and care team, working closely with doctors who provide daytime on-call duties. The on-call service offers a rich and varied working environment, far from routine, with a diverse patient base and stimulating daily tasks.

Your main duties:

  • Care of patients at the on-call service (triage levels 3 and 4): initial clinical assessment, vital signs measurement, orientation and medical handovers.
  • Performing nursing care and technical procedures: injections (SC, IM, IV), blood and microbiological sampling, catheter placement, simple and complex dressings, ECG, clinical monitoring.
  • Assisting consultations of general practitioners and specialists based in the on-call service.
  • Working in the on-call laboratory after internal training provided by our laboratory referent: routine analyses (FBC, biochemistry, coagulation, rapid POCT tests, etc.).
  • Therapeutic education, support and information for patients.
  • Networking with general practitioners and specialists of réso.ne: interprofessional coordination, structured handovers, patient follow-up.
  • Participation in quality initiatives and institutional projects.

Training and diploma:

Nurse profile: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a qualification recognised by the Swiss Red Cross. Registration in the health professions register (active GLN number) required.

  • Versatility and ease in a multi-activity environment (emergencies, consultations, laboratory).
  • Clinical assessment skills and structured handovers to the medical team.
  • Sense of responsibility, rigour and autonomy in care.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients and doctors.
  • Team spirit, kindness and exemplary professional attitude.
  • Ability to work in a network with doctors of different specialties.
  • Fluency in French (minimum C1 level). Knowledge of another language is an asset.
  • Comfort with IT tools and electronic patient records.

Fixed-term contract (FTC)

  • Minimum 7 months
  • Maternity leave replacement
  • Occasional assignments possible at other sites (La Chaux-de-Fonds, Fleurier, Geneveys-sur-Coffrane)

Opportunity for permanent contract (PC):

Depending on réso.ne’s needs at the end of the fixed-term contract, a conversion to a permanent contract may be offered to candidates whose profile matches the organisation’s needs.
