As part of the development of our activities, we are looking for a Design Engineer in Microtechnology to design, develop and optimise precision mechanical systems intended for our special machines and automation solutions.
Design Engineer in Microtechnology
Your main tasks
- Design and develop high-precision mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies
- Conduct feasibility studies, technical concepts and preliminary projects
- Prepare plans, manufacturing files and bills of materials
- Participate in the development of innovative solutions for automation, assembly and control systems
- Work closely with project, production, assembly, purchasing and R&D teams
- Ensure technical follow-up of projects, from design to commissioning
- Participate in design reviews, risk analyses and technical validations
- Optimise designs taking into account cost, quality, deadline, manufacturing and assembly constraints
- Provide technical support to internal teams as well as project managers
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of products, processes and design standards
Your profile
You hold a higher education degree in microtechnology, mechanics, industrial design or equivalent, such as HES/EPF engineer, ES technician or training deemed equivalent.
You have proven experience in precision mechanical design, ideally in the fields of microtechnology, special machines, automation, watchmaking, medical or a demanding industrial environment.
You master 3D CAD tools and are comfortable with producing technical drawings, mechanical sizing, material selection and constraints related to manufacturing and assembly.
You are rigorous, autonomous, creative and solution-oriented. Your analytical mind, attention to detail and ability to work in a team enable you to develop reliable, precise solutions adapted to customer needs.
Expected skills
- Solid experience in mechanical and microtechnology design
- Very good knowledge of precision mechanical systems
- Mastery of a 3D CAD software
- Good understanding of manufacturing, machining and assembly processes
- Ability to design robust, reliable and industrialisable solutions
- Ease in reading and writing technical documentation
- Analytical mind, rigour and attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Fluent French; German and/or English are an asset
