Apprentice Medical Device Technologist CFC Context: The Vaud University Hospital Center (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals and ranks among the top X healthcare institutions in the world according to Newsweek ranking. With its link to the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a reference role in the fields of care, research, and clinical practice. At the Department of Hospital Logistics (DLOH), the Central Sterilization and Disinfection provides sterile and functional products to all CHUV services, to affiliated establishments, and to external clients. ISO certified, it is a reference for the reprocessing of medical devices and participates in the training of healthcare professionals. Mission: You reprocess medical devices in accordance with quality and institutional directives (pre-disinfection, washing, disinfection, control, assembly/packaging, storage). You execute tasks related to all stages of the process and manage priorities (planned flows/emergencies). You identify the items, label them, and ensure their traceability in dedicated systems. You perform routine controls on equipment (e.g., autoclaves, washer-disinfectors), detect non-conformities, and apply the required actions. You strictly apply safety rules, hygiene, regulatory dress code, and hand disinfection. You collaborate with surgical block teams and care units to ensure sterile, functional devices. You have completed your schooling, demonstrate autonomy, rigor, and precision. You possess analytical skills and can adapt to technical changes. You enjoy working in a team and communicate with a high sense of hygiene, attention to detail, manual dexterity, comfort with traceability tools, endurance standing, and ability to lift.
