World Radio Switzerland (WRS) is the only English-language radio and media platform in French-speaking Switzerland. We reach 73,000 listeners each month and 16,000 contacts via our newsletter — an anglophone and international audience with strong purchasing power, structurally underserved by French-speaking media. We support our partners with tailor-made communication solutions combining audio, editorial, and digital.
As part of our commercial development, we are looking for a Media & Digital Business Developer with a genuine agency media / advertising sales / digital culture, capable of opening new accounts, developing strong business relationships, and building relevant offers based on client objectives.
This is a highly autonomous position: you manage your own prospecting territory and portfolio, with a direct and measurable impact on WRS's growth.
Your missions
You play a key role in developing WRS's turnover, with a strong focus on new business. In particular, you will be responsible for:
- Identifying, prospecting, and developing new clients and partners
- Creating and maintaining relationships with media agencies, communication agencies, advertising sales houses, digital agencies, and direct advertisers
- Understanding prospects' challenges and building tailored commercial proposals
- Selling media and digital solutions: audio campaigns, sponsorship, editorial content, newsletters, display, native, social, digital audio, special operations, and cross-media offers
- Managing the entire sales cycle: prospecting, contact initiation, meetings, proposals, negotiation, closing, and follow-up
- Developing a client portfolio with a long-term perspective
- Ensuring rigorous monitoring of commercial activity and sales pipeline
- Collaborating with internal teams to design coherent, well-executed offers aligned with client objectives
Profile sought
We are looking for a solid, structured, autonomous commercial profile comfortable in an environment where opportunities must be created. Ideally, you have:
- 5 to 8 years minimum experience in media agency, advertising sales house, digital agency, adtech, or communication solutions sales
- Proven expertise in prospecting and business development, with a demonstrable track record (accounts opened, turnover generated, targets met)
- Good understanding of digital advertising challenges and multi-platform media offers (display, native, social, programmatic, digital audio)
- Ability to deliver credible commercial discourse to demanding interlocutors (media planners, communication directors)
- A commercial and consultative approach: you know how to listen, rephrase, recommend, and sell a solution, not just a price
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong negotiation abilities, and a real results-oriented mindset
- Impeccable organisation in commercial follow-up
Appreciated skills
- Good understanding of digital campaign logics and key performance indicators
- Experience in selling solutions combining branding, content, and digital activation
- Local network in French-speaking Switzerland, particularly useful with agencies and advertisers
- Strong interest in media, communication, digital, and business development
- Knowledge of the radio sector is an asset, though not a prerequisite
Languages
- Fluent French is essential
- Fluent English required, both spoken and written (English-speaking work environment)
