Our client is one of the leading providers of transport and storage services throughout Switzerland. They supply their customers from various sectors daily with high-quality products. The company focuses on sustainability and innovation and offers its employees a dynamic and rewarding working environment. To strengthen our management team, we are looking for a Logistics Manager (m/f/d) with an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong practical sense for our site located in French-speaking Switzerland / the Bern region. The starting date is desired as soon as possible or to be agreed.

 

Your challenges

In this versatile management role, you will assume overall responsibility for the operational logistics and transport processes at the site. With your team of around 30 employees, you will ensure smooth, efficient, and high-quality operations. You will report directly to the Group CEO and be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Operational management and development of the warehouse, transport, and logistics areas
  • Responsibility for stock management, inventory processes, quality assurance, as well as compliance with safety and occupational health regulations
  • Ensuring an efficient flow of goods and continuous optimisation of processes and procedures
  • Planning and steering transport activities by optimising the use of vehicles, personnel, and resources
  • Responsibility for route and itinerary planning as well as continuous cost optimisation in transport and logistics
  • Leadership, encouragement, and professional development of around thirty employees and team leaders
  • Close collaboration with internal departments as well as professional exchanges with customers, suppliers, and external partners
  • Participation in the strategic and organisational development of the site
  • Advancing the digitalisation of logistics processes towards progressively paperless logistics
  • Ensuring a high level of service, quality, and customer orientation

 

Our requirements

To hold this responsible position, you ideally meet the following criteria:

  • Initial training in logistics, technical or commercial fields, supplemented by further training as a supply chain manager, transport and logistics operations manager, or an equivalent qualification is an advantage
  • Several years of professional experience in an operational management position in logistics, transport, or warehousing
  • In-depth knowledge in warehouse logistics, transport organisation, personnel management, and process optimisation
  • Experience in managing and developing employees and teams
  • Good IT skills and an affinity for digital logistics processes
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and good understanding of costs, quality, and productivity
  • Very good command of French as well as good oral and written German skills
  • Your personality: you are a resilient, pragmatic leader with a strong sense of responsibility. Thanks to your structured and solution-oriented approach, you maintain an overview even in demanding situations. You know how to lead, motivate, and develop your employees. At the same time, you stand out through your customer orientation, assertiveness, and a pragmatic, goal-oriented leadership style.
