Job Description

As a living collections inventory officer, you play a role in the preservation and enhancement of our botanical heritage. Passionate about the plant world and meticulous in data handling, you apply your scientific skills to our collections and research projects.

On a daily basis, you ensure the traceability and scientific compliance of our living specimens while maintaining the digital tools that support our activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the labelling system for living collections.

  • Establish the scientific inventory of living collections.

  • Ensure maintenance and updating of databases.

  • Participate in research projects under the supervision of a specialist.

  • Contribute to publication and promotion work.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in biology/life sciences, University of Applied Sciences (Hepia, etc.) or equivalent training.

  • Knowledge of botany (certificate) or equivalent experience/training.

  • Professional experience of at least 1 to 2 years in a scientific institution/association, and/or in a citizen science project.

  • Excellent plant identification skills.

  • Oral and written proficiency in English and German, level B2.

  • Team spirit and collaboration, organisation and time management, writing skills, global vision and sense of perspective.
