GEA Vallotton et Chanard SA is a firm active in the fields of urban planning, spatial planning, and urban project development. We support public authorities and private stakeholders in complex projects, at the interface between planning, regulation, and design.

Your mission

As a legal specialist, you act as the legal referent within our multidisciplinary team. You provide strategic and operational support on all legal aspects related to spatial planning and urban development projects.

Your responsibilities

  • Advise colleagues and clients on issues of spatial planning law and building regulations;
  • Analyse applicable federal, cantonal, and municipal legal frameworks for urban projects and local and regional planning;
  • Participate in the development and legal compliance review of regulations (zoning plans, taxes and contributions, community facilities, and other related topics);
  • Draft legal opinions and notes on specific issues;
  • Support municipalities in ongoing planning procedures;
  • Participate in conciliation meetings related to zoning plans;
  • Work closely with urban planners, architects, landscapers, as well as public and private clients;
  • Regularly inform colleagues of legislative and case law developments and ensure their dissemination and understanding within the team.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in law, ideally specialising in public law or spatial planning law;
  • Strong knowledge of spatial planning and construction law (LAT, LATC, etc.);
  • Good understanding of planning processes and territorial issues.

Personal skills

  • Analytical mind, rigour, and excellent writing skills;
  • Ability to work independently while integrating into a multidisciplinary team;
  • Sense of responsibility and solution-oriented approach;
  • Strong interest in urban planning, urban projects, and architecture.

  • Workplace: Lausanne
  • Work rate: 80% to 100%
