Legal Counsel - Dog ControlJob DescriptionThe Directorate General for Agriculture, Viticulture and Veterinary Affairs is looking for a legal counsel for its Dog Control sector. Responsible for the proper conduct of procedures and compliance regarding dogs, animal protection, and illegal activities, you will ensure the management and monitoring of files and ensure the legal quality of decisions and procedural acts. You will support the management in monitoring sensitive files and coordinate work with internal and external partners.Responsibilities- Ensure the management and monitoring of dog control files, ensuring compliance with procedures, deadlines, and formal requirements.- Participate in the processing of files related to bites, dangerous dogs, animal protection, and illegal activities.- Draft, correct, and finalize decisions in accordance with legal bases.- Control the legal quality of decisions, correspondence, and notices before signature and ensure the follow-up of pronounced measures.- Develop and harmonize templates for decisions, correspondence, and documents.- Support management in complex, sensitive, or high-stakes legal or political files, and advise colleagues on legal and procedural aspects.- Ensure liaison with internal and external partners (prefectures, municipalities, law enforcement, competent authorities, and private organizations) and participate in working groups on the evolution of legislation.You will find more information in the job description by clicking here.We invite you to submit your complete application file (CV, cover letter, diplomas, work certificates) via the online employment platform.Profile- Higher education relevant to the position, ideally in law, public administration, or an equivalent field.- Experience in a cynological environment (an asset) or at least five years within a public or parapublic administration.- Knowledge of the veterinary field, animal protection, or control activities as well as excellent knowledge of law and administrative procedures.- Knowledge of legislation regarding animal protection and dog control.- Excellent writing skills, with a proven aptitude for drafting legal decisions.- Sense of responsibility, analytical and synthesis skills, sense of organization, and time management.- Aptitude for leadership, decision-making, and negotiation, combined with good command of office tools.Who are we?The Directorate General for Agriculture, Viticulture and Veterinary Affairs (DGAV) is one of the entities of the Department of Agriculture, Sustainability and Digital Affairs (DADN).
