All of which make it a high-quality living environment.The Parks and Gardens section includes a head gardener, two deputies, and about forty permanent staff, including apprentices. It is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of parks, green spaces, streets, and squares, municipal floral displays, horticultural production, management of playgrounds, street furniture, and fountains, as well as the maintenance of sites such as Montorge, Valère, and Tourbillon.If you are passionate about horticulture and wish to contribute to the quality of the living environment for the people of Sion, join us!To strengthen its team, the City of Sion is advertising the position of Horticultural Landscaper, Sector Manager, at 100% activity rate, within the Urban Planning Department, Parks and Gardens section.Main missionsWithin the sector, you actively participate in the design and development of the City of Sion's exterior landscaping. You ensure the management and monitoring of the projects entrusted to you, from their conception to their completion.In this capacity, you participate in:- the design, planning, and implementation of landscaping projects, playgrounds, and public spaces;- the management of human, material, and logistical resources necessary for the proper conduct of the work;- the supervision and support of the teams assigned to the projects.Furthermore, you:- ensure compliance with deadlines, execution quality, and safety rules;- collaborate with various internal and external partners (architects, engineers, and specialized companies);- participate in the training of apprentices and the development of the team's skills;- contribute to continuous improvement and the development of the sector.Profile- Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (CFC) in horticultural landscaping or equivalent experience;- confirmed experience in landscaping work;- excellent knowledge of plants and good proficiency in reading plans;- ability to lead and coordinate a small team;- sense of responsibility, autonomy, and team spirit;- ease in interpersonal relations and teamwork;- good knowledge of French;- category B driver's license essential;- BE license, R1 forklift license, or M2 machinery operator license is an asset;- good physical condition.We offer- a stimulating work environment within a multidisciplinary and committed team, promoting initiative;- advantageous social benefits, ensuring a balance between professional and personal life;- real involvement in varied projects, with responsibilities and the opportunity to actively contribute to the development of the service's activities;- financial support for soft mobility travel (public transport and bicycle).Start date: October 1st or by agreement.SalaryAccording to the personnel regulations of the City of Sion and the Municipality's salary scale.Information regarding the job description and salary can be obtained from the head gardener.Applications including a curriculum vitae, cover letter, diplomas, references, and work certificates must be submitted online via our recruitment portal accessible on our website, by July 10th.
