For our soil and environmental laboratory in Steffisburg, we are looking for a reliable, practically minded and physically resilient individual from 01.11.2026 or by arrangement. In this versatile role, you will support our team in the preparation and processing of soil, gravel and other environmental samples and ensure the smooth operation of the associated equipment and systems.

Your tasks

• Receipt, preparation and processing of laboratory samples
• Drying, crushing, grinding, sieving and weighing of samples
• Carrying out simple analytical and laboratory technical tasks, including the required documentation and data evaluation
• Assessment and documentation of tactile samples
• Operation, supervision and cleaning of processing equipment
• Performing simple maintenance work on devices and systems
• Assistance with gravel analysis
• Responsibility for laboratory laundry and cleanliness of work areas
• Proper filing and maintenance of the sample and document archive
• Support with general tasks in laboratory operations
• Transport and internal transfer of samples and materials

Your profile

• Completed vocational training in a craft, technical, agricultural or comparable field
• Practical skills and enjoyment of physical and technical work
• Willingness to regularly lift and move loads up to 25 kg safely
• Reliable, careful and independent working style
• High sense of responsibility as well as a sense of order and cleanliness
• Good knowledge of German
• Driving licence category B
• Forklift licence available or willingness to obtain one
• Experience in the laboratory, production, workshop area or sample preparation is an advantage
